He had brown eyes, light hair, a sandy complexion and stood 5’7 1/2" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 by Capt. McIntyre at Madison. He resided at Randolph in Columbia Co. He was promoted from Sergt to 1st Lieut Sept.18,’62; Promoted to Captain August 39,’62.Wounded 2nd Bull Run. Discharged July 1,’63, disability.

William W. Jones, Capt., 21 years old. Born England. Enlisted April 29,’61 by Capt. Stevens. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Fox Lake, Dodge Co. He was promoted from 2nd Lieut. to 1st Lieut Oct. 14,’62. Wounded Antietam,right arm amputated. Promoted to Captain August 21,’63 Resigned Nov. 5,’63 and transferred to V.R.C. Mustered Out Jan. 1,’68 by S/0#516 dated 12/10/67.

Alured Larke, Capt., 20 years old. Born England, was single and a student. Enlisted May 27,’61 at Madison by Capt. Stevens. He had blue eyes, light hair and light complexion and stood 5' 9 1/2" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 by Capt. McIntyre and resided at Fox Lake, Dodge Co. Promoted to 2nd Lieut. Feb. 26,’63; to 1st Lieut. Aug.13,’63 and to Capt. Mar.15,’64,prisoner Beaver Dam,Va., Aug.4,’62, wounded at Gettysburg, missing in action at the Wilderness, Va. May 5,’64. Mustered out. Dec. 14,’64.

James L. Chapel, 2nd Lieut, 23 years old. Born in New York, single and a printer by trade. Enlisted April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He had blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion and stood 6' tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt.McIntyre. He resided at Kingston in Green Lake Co. He was promoted to 2nd Lieut.Aug.30’62, Discharged Jan. 23,’63. Wounded at Antietam.

James M Patch, 1st Serg., 21 years old. Born in Ohio, was single and was a farmer. Enlisted May 20,”61 at Madison by Capt. Stevens. He had blue eyes, brown hair a dark complexion and stood 5’7'’ tall. He was mustered into service Jan.11,’61 in Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Beaver Dam in Dodge Co. Wounded Fredericksburg & Chancellorsville. He was discharged for disability Dec.28,’63 at Convalescent Camp.

Frederick A. Nichols, 1st Serg., 23 years old. Born in Mass., was single and a wheat buyer. Enlisted April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He had grey eyes, brown hair, a dark complexion and stood 5’5'’ tall. He was mustered into service Jan. 11,’61 in Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Fox Lake in Dodge Co. He died July 2, ’63 of wounds received July 1,’63, Gettysburg, Pa.

Archibald D. Bennett, 1st Serg., (promoted from Serg.) 29 years old. Born in Canada, was married and a Harnessmaker. Enlisted April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He had hazel eyes, black hair, dark complexion and stood 5' 8 1/2'’ tall. He was mustered into service Jan.11’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Fox Lake in Dodge Co. Wounded 2nd Bull Run and Gettysburg. Missing (supposed killed in battle at Wilderness, Va. May 5, ’64). He had been wounded and was returned as prisoner of War & mustered out at Madison, Wis. April 20,’65.

Harmen H. Buoy, 1st Serg., 23 years old. Enlisted April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He was single. Mustered into service at Madison, Dec.11,’61 by Capt. McIntyre. Lived in Courtland, Columbia Co. Deserted while on furlough in Wis., Dec. ’61 (Reduced)

Chester C. Thomas, Promoted to 1st Segt., date unknown, 19 years old. Born in Penn., he was single and a farmer. Enlisted May 20,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens as Private (ed. note: he was one of 3 Thomas boys in this Co. The other two listed under Corp. & Private, ages 21 & 19 respectively, all born same state and living in the same town so presumably brothers or cousins.) He had hazel eyes, light hair, a light complexion and stood 5’9"’ tall. He was mustered into service Jan. 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Randolph Center, Columbia Co. He was wounded in action July 1,’63 Gettysburg, discharged in hospital York, Penn., Jan.6,’64.

Abram N. King, Corp., 18 years old. Was born in Mass., was single and a farmer. Enlisted May 22,’61 at Madison by Capt. Stevens.He had grey eyes, black hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 6 1/2" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at St. Marie in Monroe Co. and was credited to the 4th Ward of Milwaukee. He was a prisoner at Beaver Dam, Va. Aug. 6,’62. He re-enlisted Feb. 25,’64 and was transferred to Independent Battalion on June 10, 1864, Co A.

Eugene Cole, Corp., 18 years old. Was born in New York, was single and a farmer. Enlisted April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens along with his brother Edwin. He had blue eyes, black hair, a light complexion and stood 5’9"tall. He mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Fox Lake in Dodge Co. - was credited to the 8th Ward of Milwaukee. He was a prisoner at Gainesville and Westmoreland, C.H. He reenlisted Feb.29,’64 and was transferred to Independent Battalion June 10,’64, Co. A.

William H. Thomas, Corp, 31 years old. Was born in Penna. and was a farmer. Enlisted Feb. 24,’62 at Portage by Lieut. Converse. He had blue eyes, light hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 10 1/2" tall. He was mustered into service Feb. 24,’62 at Madison by Capt. Lamot. He resided at Randolph Center in Columbia Co. and was credited to the 4th Ward of Milwaukee. He was wounded at Gettysburg and missing and supposed killed at the Wilderness May 5,’64. He was reenlisted Feb. 25,’64 and transferred by name to Independent Battalion, Co. B. June 10, ’64. Both Chester and Charles Thomas of Randolph Center had joined in ’61.

Jacob H. Becroft, Pvt, 36 years old. He was born in New York and was single and a farmer. Enlisted April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He had hazel eyes, black hair, a dark complexion and stood 5' 6 1/2" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Randolph in Columbia Co. and was credited to the 8th Ward of Milwaukee. He reenlisted Feb. 29,’64 and was transferred to Independent Battalion June 10,’64. Co. B.

Daniel Bennett, Pvt, 20 years old. He was born in New York, was single and a farmer. Enlisted April 19 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre . He resided at Fox Lake in Dodge Co. (as did John Bennett, 44, listed later). He was discharged for disability Nov. 15,’61 at Camp Tillinghast, Va.

He was wounded at Antietam, a prisoner at Gettysburg. He mustered out, term expired, June 30,’64.

June 1l,'61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Randolph in Columbia Co. Discharged Feb. 5,'63 for disability without official notice.

Charles Brandstetter, Pvt., 28 years old. He was born in Missouri and was a farmer. He was enlisted into service Nov. 27,'61 at Madison by Lieut. Meredith. He had blue eyes, black hair, a dark complexion and stood 5' 1 I" tall. He was mustered into service Nov. 27,'61 at Madison by Capt. Lamot. He was taken prisoner at Beaver Dam, Va., Aug. 4,'62 and died July 12,'63 of wounds received at Gettysburg.

Robert H. Branton,Pvt., 18 years old. He was born in England and was a farmer. He was enlisted into service October 28,'62 at Madison by Lieut. Meredith. He had brown eyes, black hair, a light complexion and stood 5'5" tall. He was mustered into service October 28,'62 at Madison by Capt. Lamot. He resided at Randolph, Columbia Co. He was wounded at Laurel Hill. He transferred to Independent Batt. June 10,'64.

He was wounded at Gettysburg. Mustered out June 30,’64 term expired.

Edwin Cole, Pvt. 20 years of age. He was born in New York, was single and a farmer. He was enlisted into service April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He had blue eyes, light hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 9 1/2 “ tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Fox Lake in Dodge Co. and was probably the brother on Corp. Eugene Cole of this Company. He was discharged for disability by Gen. Wadsworth June 30,’62.

John W. Compton,(alt. Campton) Pvt., 28 years old. He was born in New York, was married and a mason. He was enlisted into service April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He had blue eyes, light hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 7 1/2" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Randolph in Columbia Co. He was det. in Battery B, 4th U.S. Artillery from Nov. 7,’61 to Dec.’63; He was absent sick at time of mustering out and trans. to V.R.C., March 16,’64.

Lewis E. Conklin, Pvt., 18 years old. He was born in New York, was single and a hunter. He was enlisted into service May 27,’61 at Madison by Capt. Stevens. He had hazel eyes, brown hair, a light complexion and stood 5’7" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Beaver Dam in Dodge Co. Discharged at Camp near Belle Plaine Va. by sentence of Gen.. Court Martial Feb. 21,’63. Drummed out of the service.

Samuel A. Cook, Pvt., 24 years old. He was born in New York, was single and a farmer. He was enlisted into service Nov.6,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He had blue eyes, light hair, a light complexion and stood 5’10" tall. He was mustered into service Nov. 6,’61 at Madison by Capt. Lamot. He resided at Courtland, Columbia Co. He lost left leg at the Battle of Antietam, September 17,’62. Sources vary as to discharge date. Roster of Wis. Volunteers says dischg. with disability due to wounds Dec. 6,’62. Otis’ Second Wisconsin says there is no official notice of discharge; Muster and Descriptive Roll (Red) says Orig. Discharge presented May 28,’86 but there were indications that he was discharged Dec. 6, 1867 by reason of amputation. It would seem that is a miscopy of the Dec. 6,’62 date.

Solomon Cuddelback, Pvt. , 20 years old. He was born in New York, was single and a farmer. He was enlisted into service May 22, ’61 at Madison by Capt. Stevens. He had hazel eyes, brown hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 8" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Randolph in Columbia Co. He was wounded at White Sulpher Springs Aug. 26,’62 and sent to General Hospital. Dropped as a deserter Oct. 31,’63.

Joseph Davis, Pvt., 38 years old. He was married. He was enlisteded into service April 19,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. Mc Intyre. He resided in Randolph in Columbia Co. He was discharged March 10,’62 with a disability at Tillinghast, Va.

Peter Dorn, Pvt. 19 years old. He was born in Germany, was single and a farmer. He was enlisted into service April 19.,’61 at Fox Lake by Capt. Stevens. He had grey eyes, brown hair a dark complexion and stood 5' 7 1/2" tall. He was mustered into serviceJune 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Randolph in Columbia Co. He had hazel eyes, brown hair, a dark complexion and stood 5’5" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. Mc Intyre. He resided at Columbus in Columbia Co. He was killed at Battle of Gainesville, Va. August 28,’62.

William Dutcher, Pvt., 18 years old. He was born in Indiana, was single and a student. He was enlisted into service May 27,’61 at Madison by Capt. Stevens. He had grey eyes, black hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 7" tall. He was mustered into service June 11, ’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Columbus in Columbia Co. He was det. in 1st R.I. Battery from May 4,’62 till June ’64. Mustered out June 30,’64, term expired.

He had dark eyes, black hair, a dark complexion and stood 5' 7" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. Mc Intyre. He resided at Randolph in Columbia Co. He was discharged with a disability May 26,’62.

George B. Farnsworth, Pvt., 19 years old. He was born in New York, was single and a farmer. He was enlisted into service Feb. 17,’62 at Portage by Lieut. Converse. He had blue eyes, light hair, light complexion and stood 5' 7 1/2" tall. He was mustered into service Feb. 17,’62 at Madison by Capt. Lamot. He resided in Portage in Portage Co. He was discharged for disability from Convalescent Camp in Virginia Dec. 23,’63.

He had brown eyes, brown hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 7" tall. He was mustered into service Nov. 18,’62 at Madison by Capt. Lamot. He resided at Midland in Marquette Co. He was taken prisoner at Chancellorsville and deserted May 30,’63.

He had grey eyes, black hair, a light complexion and stood 5' 4 1/2" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,'61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Randolph in Columbia Co. He died of disease at Fredericksburg, Va. My 27, 1862.

He was detailed in the 1st New Hampshire Battery from June 22,’62 to March ’63. He was discharged for disability March 3,’63.

He had blue eyes, auburn hair, a sandy complexion and stood 5' 8" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Columbus, Columbia Co. He was discharged to enlist in Battery G 5th U.S. Artillery Nov. 15,’62. Wounded 2nd Bull Run ad Antietam.

He had black eyes, black hair, a dark complexion and stood 5' 8" tall. He was mustered into service June 11,’61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided in Coloma, Waushara Co. He died of disease at Kolorama Hospital, Washington D.C., April 19,’62.

Charles Hanson, Pvt., 21 years of age. He was single, born in Michigan and a miller. He was enlisted into service May 27th,'61 at Madiosn by Capt. Stevens. He had hazel eyes, brown hair, a light complexion ans stood 5'6" tall. He was mustered into service Jule 11,'61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at Lemonweir in Juneau Co. and was credited to the 8th Ward of Milwaukee. He was detatched to Battery B, 4th U.S. Artillery June 7, '62 to March 11,'64. He reenlisted March 11,'64. He was transferred to Independent Battalion, Co. A, June 10,'64.

Alphonso H. Harvey, Pvt., 20 years of age. He was single. He was enlisted into service May 22,'61 at Madison by Capt. McIntyre. He resided at St. Marie in Monroe Co. and was credited to 4th Ward of Milwaukee. He was discharges for disability at Camp Corcoran, Va. Aug. 1,'61.

He was wounded at Gettysburg and transferred to VRC March 15,'64. He mustered out with Co. I, June 11,'64, term expired.

Later records show transfer to VRC May 12,'64 as Corp. Discharged June 12,'64 at Washington D.C. from 107th, 2nd Battalion.
